At the risk of sounding like a douche: I'm not all that broken up about Panic. People are FREAKING OUT and I don't get why? The only thing that bothers me about it (aside from the fact that they did it right before a tour.. lame) is that Bden and Spencer are still continuing under the name PATD. Uh what? Your lyricist just left. Biggest pet peeve evar: bands who continue after their primary writer leaves!

But, anyway. People are weeping and throwing themselves off buildings and it's weird. Fact: Nine Inch Nails and Bright Eyes are BOTH ceasing to exist over the next few months. (If I have to explain to you why that is significant to me, then you are in the wrong place.) Anyway, you'll notice I haven't been hiding under my bed in the fetal position. This is because the musicians involved in these projects will continue to live, continue to follow their passions, and most likely, continue to make music.

Ryan and Jon are pursuing a new musical endeavor. Support it! Your PATD CDs are not going to magically disappear. You can still listen to their music that you've always loved..

Basically, anything short of death shouldn't get people worked up to the extent that they are. I mean, I understand that it's not a happy time for PATD fans, but it is also not the end of the world, there is no need to cut your wrists. If Ryro dies in some freak hipster-scarf accident, feel free to act appropriately...
